JOSEPH A. GORDON, MS, FACHE founded Survey
Resources, LLC in 1994 to assist hospitals in understanding
the Joint Commission survey process and to better prepare
for the triennial surveys.
For over nine years he worked for the Joint Commission as
a surveyor and taught many of their educational programs through
QHR and Joint Commission Resources. He also authored chapters
in their training manuals, wrote scripts for corporate training
videos and provided technical advice in the production of
survey process materials and texts that are currently being
sold nationally.
And, as one of a small handful of surveyors, he was asked
to be an active member within the "OSHA Partnership Initiative"
charged with simplifying and streamlining standards and compliance
with both Joint Commission standards and OSHA negotiations.
Combining his experience as both a consultant and a surveyor,
he has assisted over 400 hospitals either prepare for or participate
in an actual survey. Several of his consultant clients have
brought him back for four survey cycles. He is in a unique
position to understand both the current standards and the
intent behind them.
He holds a Bachelors degree from Alfred University and a
Masters Degree from Columbia University. In addition, he is
a licensed nursing home administrator and successfully passed
the surveyor certification exam.
